A small desk works better when every object has a job. Before buying another accessory, identify the thing that interrupts work most often: an awkward screen position, a missing control, or a camera angle that makes calls harder. Solve that problem first and leave room to work.

Measure the working area

Measure the usable desktop after allowing for the chair, cables, and any papers you need open. Decide whether the laptop stays there or travels daily. A fixed stand can suit a permanent setup, while a frequent traveler may value a folding option. Check the stand’s listed laptop compatibility rather than assuming every computer will fit.

Think of the stand, keyboard, and mouse together

The Nulaxy C3 raises a laptop screen, but that also raises its built-in keyboard. The manufacturer recommends a separate keyboard and mouse for this setup. Reuse peripherals you already have before adding more. Position equipment for your own comfortable working posture; a stand by itself is not a treatment for pain or a complete workstation adjustment.

Choose the mouse by the work

For ordinary pointing and clicking, compare the Logitech M185 as the simple option. Check that you have a suitable USB port for its receiver. The MX Master 3S is the feature upgrade to consider if you frequently scroll through long documents or want additional controls. Its shape is larger, so hand fit and desk space matter. More buttons have little value if you will not use them.

Improve the call setup before replacing the camera

Try moving your existing camera toward eye level and placing a light source in front of you. If the built-in camera still limits placement, the Anker PowerConf C200 provides a separate 2K webcam option. Confirm connections and software support. A new camera will not repair a weak internet connection, and a meeting service may not transmit at the camera’s maximum resolution.

Give small items a place

A pocket notebook can hold a short next-action list, while longer meeting notes belong in a larger notebook or document. Keep one charging point easy to reach. The Anker 30W charger is an option for compatible phones and tablets; check the laptop’s power requirement before expecting it to replace a laptop adapter. Keep the remaining desktop clear enough to set down the work in front of you.

A sensible upgrade order

Begin with the equipment you already own. Add a stand only when the desk arrangement calls for it and you have suitable input devices. Choose one mouse, not both options shown here. Add the webcam only after checking lighting and positioning. This produces a more coherent setup than buying six accessories at once.

C3 Aluminum Laptop Stand

For a laptop that stays on a desk

Raises the screen and leaves space beneath the laptop. A useful starting point when the laptop is your main work screen.

Consider before buying: Plan on a separate keyboard and mouse. This is a fixed stand, not a height-adjustable desk.
